Your Design Style

When it comes to design for kitchen, bath, or your entire home, there are a world of possibilities. You may take your inspiration from history, drawing on Colonial, Georgian, Victorian styles or Mid Century Modern. Others prefer a more contemporary look. Or, you may be looking for farmhouse chic, an industrial look, or the serenity of Japanese design. We will work with you to create a project that feels uniquely your own.

Popular kitchen design styles

One design style does not have to define your taste. These are references you may use or blend throughout your home.

  • Traditional. An historic or old world feel. Ball and claw bathtubs, gilded chandeliers and crown moldings, wingback chairs, upholstered finishes. Popular for renovating historic homes.

  • Farmhouse Chic. Warm inviting light wood, lightly painted cabinets, Mason jars, farmhouse sinks, butcher block tables, hanging pot racks, and flour sack towels. Classic, elegant, and comfortable.

  • Transitional. Eclectic design blends of traditional and contemporary elements with straight lines. Soft neutral colors with warm wood tones like maple, mahogany and walnut. Minimal use of accessories, the emphasis is on comfort and practicality.

  • Mid Century Modern. Recalls early and mid 20th century architecture. Minimal ornament, warm woods like teak and beech, expanses of glass, and an open floor plan. Painted cabinets and laminate surfaces are also a common theme in this design style.

  • Rustic Industrial. Industrial age meets the farm. Distressed woods, forged iron, galvanized steel, stained concrete surfaces, hand blown glass, and soft fabrics. An eclectic mix of factory materials, antiques, and repurposed objects.

  • Asian. Evokes an image of serenity and tranquility. Colors of nature, carefully placed subtle black hues, clean lines, balance of open space with minimal furniture. Use of bamboo, natural stone, and organic textures.
